Program Manager

HCR Permanent Search is working with a top-tier manufacturer specializing in custom metal fabrication for heavy-duty industrial applications.  They are searching for a Program Manager  to oversee projects from initial launch through to final production.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project management for custom-built heavy machinery.
• Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams across engineering, design, and manufacturing.
• Manage technical documentation, engineering changes, project milestones, budgets, and quality standards.
• Develop and implement work instructions, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure compliance with customer specifications and regulatory standards.
• Promote continuous improvement in welding and fabrication processes to enhance quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with external auditors and ensure all certifications, especially welding-related, are current.
• Provide mentorship and leadership to internal engineering and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of experience in project or program management within custom heavy equipment manufacturing.
• Proven background in managing multiple projects involving MIG welding, flux core, and other industrial welding techniques.
• Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering; P.Eng designation is preferred.
• Strong understanding of welding inspection, process optimization, and quality control in a fabrication environment.
